When I was first told about using Instagram for marketing purposes, I was very skeptical. As a small business owner, I was not sure whether I was going to get much use out of this platform. But then I was told about the process where I could use Instagram to boost my brand and gain a bigger following than I had right now. I took that advice and it is the best decision I ever made.
The process of promoting a company on Instagram is a little bit different to Facebook and Twitter. While the rules of social media still apply, I found that I had to give a big focus to pictures and videos if I wanted to find success. And that is what I did.

Another trick that I used was to buy more Instagram followers than I was getting organically. I had to be very careful about it. The reason is because you want your ratio of likes, comments and followers to be in line with what is normal. If you have many followers but no one is commenting, then it seems suspicious.
What I was able to do on Instagram was reach out to influencers. Since I had a store in a smaller city, I had to find people who were local to the area. But it was not hard, as I would use hashtags and see who were the people posting about relevant topics in my city and getting the most responses. I would reach out to those people to see if they wanted to partner up.
And it was something as simple as offering a free product or service in return for them taking a picture with my store. They would be outside or inside and taking a picture, then commenting about the great experience they had.
Such methods are so important when you are on Instagram. I realized that I had to make my place stand out from the competition. And that is what I was able to do through Instagram.
Of course, the quality of what I am offering must be up to the expected standard. Instagram will not keep a bad business afloat. But if you have a good business and need an extra boost, Instagram marketing can provide it.
